Form Matcher › Embed a Google Form

How to embed a Google Form on your website

Google's own embed is an iframe with a fixed height, so you get double scrollbars, a purple form that doesn't match your site, and awkward spacing on phones. Here is a cleaner way.

The problem with the standard Google Forms embed

  • It is an iframe with a fixed height, so long forms scroll inside your page.
  • It keeps the Google Forms look: purple header, Google fonts and footer.
  • Your site's fonts and styles can't reach inside it.

The Form Matcher embed

Form Matcher gives you one line of code. The form renders right in your page with your fonts and colors, grows to fit its questions, and sends answers to your Google Form.

<script src="https://formmatcher.com/embed.js" data-form="fm_yourform" async></script>
<div id="fm_yourform"></div>

Paste it once. Design edits you make later show up automatically, with no new code.

Where to paste it

  • WordPress: Add a Custom HTML block where you want the form. On WordPress.com this needs a plan that allows custom code.
  • Squarespace: Add a Code block and paste the code.
  • Wix: Add Embed Code, choose Embed HTML, and paste it. Wix shows embeds in a box you size yourself, so drag it tall enough for your form.
  • Webflow: Drag in an Embed element and paste the code.
  • Shopify: Add a Custom Liquid section in the theme editor, or paste into a page using the code view.
  • Framer: Add an Embed component and choose HTML.
  • Carrd: Add an Embed element set to Code.
  • Any other site: Paste it into the HTML where the form should appear.

No website? Every form also comes with a share link at formmatcher.com/f/ that you can send or turn into a QR code.

Common questions

How do I embed a Google Form on my website?

Copy the one-line embed code from Form Matcher and paste it where you want the form. It works on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Carrd and any site that lets you add HTML. There is no iframe, so the form sizes itself to fit.

Can I make the form background transparent?

Yes. Make the area behind the form transparent so your page shows through, make the form card itself transparent, or add a frosted glass effect.

Where do my responses go?

Straight to your Google Form and its linked Google Sheet, the same place they go today. We never store what people write. We only count submissions so you can see how many came in.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Forms adapt to any screen size, and you can preview the mobile version in the builder before you publish.
